The city is known for its vibrant culture, bustling streets, delicious food, unique shopping experience, stunning temples, and diverse attractions that can be visited throughout the day. Here are what you can do in a day around Bangkok.

Bangkok Travel Morning

Grand Palace

Grand Palace is a must-see landmark in Bangkok. Explore the stunning architecture and the temple of the Emerald Buddha (Wat Phra Kaew) within the complex. You can travel there by taking BTS Skytrain and getting off at Saphan Taksin Station, Exit 2. Then take the Chao Phraya Express Boat (costs around 15 THB) at Sathorn Pier and get off at Tha Chang Pier. The palace is 3-minute walk from there.  Or you can also take the subway (MRT) to Sanam Chai Station, exit 1, then it will take about 15 minutes walk from the station. The Grand Palace entry fee is 500THB per person and keep in mind to dress appropriately.

Wat Pho

After visiting the Grand Palace, walk (about 15 minutes) over to Wat Pho, home to the famous reclining Buddha. It is open every day from 8.00 to 18.30 and the entry costs 200THB. Do not miss the intricate details on the temple walls and its story and also the beautiful garden.

Museum Siam, A Learning Museum

Museum Siam shows the way of locals live from the past to the present through modern technology media and museum media that highlights the interaction of storytelling that makes it more fun and amusing throughout the entire visit. It is open from Tuesday to Sunday 10.00-18.00.

Flower Market (Pak Khlong Talad)

Pak Khlong Talad is the biggest and might be the only wholesale and retail fresh flower market in Bangkok. Countless types of flowers are sold here, some we might not know of. The market is open 24 hours but it is busiest before dawn, so don’t miss to experience the colorful scents of fresh flowers with the wholesale price. The market is not far from the Grand Palace, you can take the subway (MRT) to Sanam Chai Station and walk to the market or take a taxi or Tuk-Tuk.

Bangkok Travel Afternoon

If you are tired from walking around in the warm weather and want to just chill and relax. We suggest you go to

Siam Square

Siam Square is located in the center of Bangkok. Around that area, there are plenty of malls, from eco-friendly and local brands in Siam Discovery and Siam Square to universal and luxury brand stores in Siam Paragon, Central World, and Central Embassy.  Explore and shop around Siam, enjoy the architecture, escape the hot weather outside and you can also grab some delicious food from famous restaurants there. It is a nice way to cool off and also experience some modern life in Bangkok.
Siam is easy to go to. You can take the Skytrain (BTS) to Siam station. Or you can take a taxi or Tuk-Tuk from the Grand Palace since it is not far from each other.

Talad Noi

Talad Noi is one of Bangkok’s oldest neighborhoods just next to Chinatown. Talad Noi means ‘small market’ but despite its name, there is no market there just a maze of narrow lanes filled with old houses, unique coffee shops and more. Talad Noi is known for its unique blend of Chinese and Thai cultures, its heritage old buildings and street arts. It is best to explore this area by walking or bicycle.

Bangkok Travel Evening

Explore Chinatown

As the sun begins to set, head to Bangkok’s bustling Chinatown, Yaowarat Road. Wander through the narrow streets that are filled with street food carts and try some delicious street food.

You can take the subway (MRT) to Wat Mangkon station and you will be in the heart of Chinatown. Or if you’re planning to go to Talad Noi first, you can walk from Talad Noi to Chinatown due to it is next to and connected to each other.

Enjoy the nightlife on Khaosan Road

Khaosan Road is known as a center of partying. It is definitely famous for offering affordable accommodations, restaurants, bars, and nightclubs. It is where travelers can experience how locals party and also where they can try bazaar food like fried scorpions and insects.

The nearest BTS Skytrain station to Khaosan Road is Siam and the closest subway (MRT) station is Hua Lamphong which is about 5 km from Khaosan Road. So, you will need to get a taxi or Tuk-Tuk which will be about a 15–30-minute drive depending on the traffic.

Bangkok Travel Night

If you’re still hungry or tired from partying and craving some food, grab late-night snacks in Rambuttri Alley. Rambuttri Alley is right next to Khaosan Road but completely gives off a different vibe. You will find a large variety of authentic Thai food at a reasonable price. For those who want to escape the chaos from Khaosan Road but still want a good time, Rambuttri Alley is the right place to relax and enjoy your meals with loved ones while still experiencing the city and having a nice time.
